Dr. Michael Rose, DVM
Undergraduate Degree: Allegheny College, 1987. Bachelor of Science
Veterinary Degree: Iowa State University, 1991. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
Veterinary Career and Interests: Dr. Rose spent his early veterinary career working with a mixed animal practice where he tended to not only dogs and cats, but also cows, horses, and other farm animals. He later moved to Ohio where he was a busy small animal veterinarian for many years. In 1997, Dr. Rose moved to Charlottesville and opened up Monticello Animal Hospital which has been growing ever since! Dr. Rose enjoys orthopedic surgery, and exotic animal medicine. Family and Pets: Dr. Rose is a proud father of seven children! His wife Linda heroically stays home with the kids, as well as their 4 dogs.
Personal Interests and Hobbies: Dr. Rose spends his free time playing with his children, driving and fixing his old 1953 Ford tractor, and gardening.

Dr. Kimberly Bohne, DVM
Undergraduate Degree: Virginia Tech, 1993. Bachelor of Science in Biology
Veterinary Degree: VA-MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, 2002. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
Veterinary Career and Interests: Dr. Bohne joined Monticello Animal Hospital in 2002. She was the first full-time Associate Veterinarian added to the practice. She enjoys internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and geriatric care. She has completed her certification and is a Fear Free Certified Professional. (learn more at https://fearfreepets.com/)
Family and Pets: Dr. Bohne and her husband Christian have a son, Ethan. They also have Willow the dog and Charlie the cat.
Personal Interests and Hobbies: Dr. Bohne loves being a mom, gardening, hiking, and dancing.

Dr. John Andersen, DVM
Undergraduate Degree: James Madison University, 1998. Bachelor of Science Degree.
Veterinary Degree: VA-MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine (at Virginia Tech), 2002. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM).
Veterinary Career and Interests: After graduating from veterinary school, Dr. Andersen started his career at the N.C. State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Here, he worked as an intern gaining experience in internal medicine, specialized surgery, emergency medicine/critical care, and oncology. Dr. Andersen then moved to Charlottesville in 2003 and began working at Monticello Animal Hospital later that year. His veterinary interests remain internal medicine, critical care, and cancer surgery. He has completed his certification and is a Fear Free Certified Professional. Family and Pets: Dr. Andersen and his wife Michelle (also a veterinarian) have a son, Whitcomb. They also live with their dog, Ruby and their cat, Gizmo in Crozet.
Personal Interests and Hobbies: On his off-time, Dr. Andersen enjoys spending time with his family, running ultramarathons, and writing a veterinary and fitness column for the Crozet Gazette.

Dr. Courtney Hoy, DVM
Undergraduate Degree: University of Virginia, 2013. Bachelor of Art in Biology and Psychology
Veterinary Degree: Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine, 2019. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
Veterinary Career and Interests: Dr. Hoy returned to our hospital in the summer of 2019. She was on our staff as a veterinary assistant since 2008 prior to veterinary school. Family and Pets: Dr. Hoy lives in Esmont with her dogs, Duke and Eddie Bauer and her cats, J. Crew, and Kate Spade.
Personal Interests and Hobbies: Outside of the practice, Dr. Hoy enjoys exploring local sights and sounds with family and friends, crafting, and taking Duke and Eddie to pet-friendly events!
